Micromax Yu Yureka to go on sale from 13 january on Amazon

Micromax Yu Yureka receives ‘phenomenal’ response, sales to begin on 13 January on Amazon
Micromax hasn’t mentioned the number of registrations it has received but claims it has got a phenomenal response for the Yu Yureka smartphone. Initially, the registrations were supposed to close on 25 December but the company shut them down one day in advance.
Micromax Yu Yureka, which was announced last week for a price of Rs 8999 will go on sale on 13 January at 2PM exclusively on Amazon.in.  Users have to pre-register on the website to avail and the pre-registrations for this opened on 19 December. You need to hit subscribe once you click on the Micromax Yureka display page on the site.
We registered on the website and later received the following message:
“Thanks for registering for the Yureka Smartphone Sale* to be held on January 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM. You are now eligible to purchase the Yureka smartphone in this sale. To beat the rush, we suggest that you log into your Amazon.in account a few minutes prior to the sale at 2:00 PM on January 13, 2015. Sale will be strictly on first come first serve basis as long as stocks last.”
The message confirms what was being feared at the launch. That a) the device is likely to be in limited stock and b) that Micromax too could resort to flash sales which are infuriating for genuine customers. At the launch event, the company did not confirm how big the stock for this sale would be and co-founder Rahul Sharma admitted that it would take them some time to ensure that smoothen out the stock for this phone.
Now the fact that the phone will only come in January has added to the worries on how many users will actually be getting their hands on the device.
As far as specs go, the Yu Yureka smartphone features a 5.5-inch IPS display, with a pixel density of 267ppi, with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for better protection against scratches. The rear includes a 13MP CMOS camera with a f2.2 aperture for better low-light photography. In addition, there’s 5MP front camera that has a 71 degree wide angle lens. Micromax’s Yureka runs on a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset with a 1.5GHz octa-core processor. It’s backed by 2GB of RAM and comes with 16GB of built-in storage.
Micromax has signed an exclusive partnership with Cyanogen to be the only seller of Cyanogen smartphones in India. It recently filed a lawsuit against OnePlus for allegedly infringing upon its exclusive rights over Cyanogen OS and now OnePlus has been banned from selling CyanogenMod OS phones. The Chinese company has now told the Delhi HC that its version of CyanogenMod is different from the one on Micromax.
With Micromax phones set to launch only in January, and given that Amazon (which is once again the exclusive partner for OnePlus) has been allowed to clear the stock of OnePlus One devices, some users might go for this device. However the OnePlus One device is priced at Rs 21,999 and while it comes with 64 GB of storage space, budget users who love CyanogenMod are likely to wait for Micromax Yureka. Hopefully their wait won’t be too long once the sales open on 13 January.

Windows 10 Is a Free Upgrade!!!

Why Windows 10 is a smart move for Microsoft
Yes as the title says, Windows 10 will be a free upgrade to Win7,8 and 8.1 Users. As stated by Microsoft yesterday.
There is a condition though that you must upgrade within 1 year from launch, smart move huh!
Also another important update microsoft gave was about a new browser: spartan. I think they know how frustated the IE users are.

Another big secret is the cortana, a voice assistant built in to do regular tasks for you just like SiRi. Isnt that cool .

At this update windows is trying to get users to adapt windows with all their devices.Win10 will be highly synchronized
within PC and tablets and mobiles. Also the apps which were available on pc till now will be totally be available on all platforms.
With Windows10 it will be very easy to move our work from pc to other platform.
A new Office edition is also what you are going to see.

So the final question: When are we going to see Win10 on our machines?
Microsoft has stated the official launch in late 2015 and the Tech Review edition will close in April 2015

Will windows 10 will be a hit like win7 or just a lost focus os like win8 , what do you say ?

Dual Boot Fedora and windows : A step by step guide

Hi friends, I'm trying out Fedora since last week and its been a very nice experience. I will share with you how I felt using it afterwords but for now I will be giving a step by step guide on installing Fedora alongside windows.

I'm focusing on Fedora 21 but this guide definitely works with some earlier versions and future ones also.

So lets get started.

1. Get a bootable USB created for Fedora. I recommend using unetbootin.
It's simple just give the path of Fedora ISO and it will format the USB and   extract the linux on it.

To install Fedora make some space , 40GB is enough but it can work nicely with 20GiB also (as I'm doing!!!) Make sure that you keep that space unallocated that is deleting the partition if present. Its not a must but it will simplify the installation.

For that use the drives option in Manage window in windows.

2.Now restart your computer and keep that pen-drive connected . You should see a unetbootin menu if not then you have to make changes in your BIOS. Simply enter BiOS with pressing either f2/f3/del according to your mode. and then make usb boot enable and keep it as first boot device in boot priority.

3.At UnetBootin menu select to try Fedora.

4.Now Fedora will boot nicely with all your devices working as normal If not especially your On-Chip graphics then you should consider searching for that issue on net.
Or you can simply ask me in the comments. I will surely help you with that.

4.If fedora gets started correctly (Which it normally does on most of the PCs) then its a good to go sign.

5.Now press windows key or simply click activities in the upper left corner and you will see a install to Hard disk icon there. Click it and will open a wizard.

6.Set the language etc. and move to drive or partition setting. You will see your disk checked it should remain as is.

7. ***Now the most important part.***

If you are willing to dual boot fedora with windows do not install bootloader of fedora, it will overwrite your windows MBR.
at the downmost left there is an option asking you to view "Full disk sumary and bootloader " or something like that. Select that and choose "Do not install Bootloader"

Hit OK and it will show an error at down saying that your linux wont be bootable. If you see that, it means we are on the right path.

8.Now hit Done and you will see a free space which you have freed earlier.
simply click on "+" over that free space and enter the mount point as "/".
Give it the space you want.

Many tutorials on net shows to create three partitions but that's not a must.
I got everything running nice with only a single "/" partition with all of 20GiB I was left with. For older and with less RAM PCs add a"/swap" partion with some double value of your RAM.

9.Note down the sdaX it is showing for your new / partition (maybe write it somewhere).

After that move to next screen by hitting Done and then accepting to make changes to drive.

10. Click begin installation and you can now set root password and user setting parallely.

11. After the installation gets complete do not restart but enter the terminal and type following commands:
Use sudo before commands if it says that you don't have permission over "your own" computer!!!
chroot /mnt/sysimage
grub2-innstall --force /dev/sdaX
here x is the partition you have installed fedora like sda9.

grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
if everything goes fine without any error then you are good to go.
enter exit to exit the chroot.

Now enter
sudo dd if=/dev/sdaX of=grub.bin bs=512 count=1

12. You will now get a grub.bin in your home directory copy and paste it to your C:/ partition.

13.Now reboot to windows and open cmd with administrator priviledges.

14. Enter there

bcdedit /create /d “MY LINUX GRUB” /application BOOTSECTOR
Note: bcdedit will return an ID for this entry that we will call {LinuxID} below. You will need to replace {LinuxID} by the returned identifier in this step. An example of {LinuxID} is {81ed7925-47ee-11db-bd26-cbb4e160eb27}
bcdedit /set {LinuxID} device boot ( Specify which device hosts a copy of the Linux boot sector)

bcdedit /set {LinuxID} PATH \grub.bin ( Specify the path to a copy of the Linux boot sector)

bcdedit /displayorder {LinuxID} /addlast (Add Linux entry to the displayed menu at boot time)

Now  reboot and you should see and entry named my linux grub working to forward you to grub.

So that was easy wasn't that. With correct procedure and following everything correctly you should get your Fedora running like a charm.

If you are stuck at something feel free to ask me in comments or simply mail me.

Redmi2 - Xiaomi launches a 4G enabled phone

Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has launched a low-cost TD-LTE smartphone Redmi 2, the successor of Redmi 1S. The smartphone will go on sale on January 15 in China and cost 699 yuan (approximately $110).

While Redmi 2 shares a few features with its predecessor, it has a few upgrades apart from the 4G-capability. The new model is powered by the 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, while Redmi 1S comes with the 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset.

The front camera gets a resolution bump, from 1.6MP in Redmi 1S to 2MP in Redmi 2. The battery is also slightly beefier at 2,200mAh in the new smartphone, up from 2,000mAh of Redmi 1S. Xiaomi's Redmi 2 smartphone also supports QuickCharge 1.0 technology for faster battery charging.

Xiaomi will be preloading the Android 4.4-based MIUI 6.0 software with Redmi 2, while the Redmi 1S runs on the Android 4.3-based MIUI 5.0 custom skin. The new model is thinner (9.2mm) and lighter (134gram) than its predecessor (9.9mm and 158gram).

The remaining features of Redmi 2 are same as that of its older sibling, including the 5-inch HD screen with DragonTrail glass, 8GB internal storage, 32GB microSD card, 1GB RAM and connectivity options.

Firefox OS : A web based OS for your mobiles and tablets

Firefox OS is going to prove itself as a tough competitor to android in next year.
Currently running on lower end smart-phones, firefox os will surely adapt and update itself to the latest hardware features.

So lets see whats packed inside this fox ( I mean box)?

Firefox OS (project name: Boot to Gecko, also known as B2G) is a Linux kernel-based open-source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers
and is set to be used on smart TVs.
It is being developed by Mozilla, the non-profit organization best known for the Firefox web browser.

Firefox OS is designed to provide a complete community-based alternative system for mobile devices,
using open standards and approaches such as HTML5 applications, JavaScript,
a robust privilege model, open web APIs to communicate directly with cellphone hardware,
and application marketplace.
As such, it competes with commercially developed operating systems such as Apple's iOS,
Google's Android, Microsoft's Windows Phone and Jolla's Sailfish OS as well as other community-based
open source systems such as Ubuntu Touch.
Firefox os running on Nexus 7:

 Core technologies:

The initial development work involves three major software layers:
Gonk – platform denomination for a combination of the Linux kernel and the HAL from Android
Gecko – the web browser engine and application run-time services layer;
Gaia – an HTML5 layer and user-interface system.

Read about entire OS architecture at
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Platform/Architecture

Current and Future Plans:

Firefox OS version 2.0 is currently in development, with 1.3/1.4 coming close to being a stable release build. There are many phones available in wild, both consumer and developer models. To find out more, read the following:
We will be talking more about firefox os and related news in upcoming days. Till  then , share the article to spread the knowledge, and stay tuned.

Top 10 Antiviruses for PC

10. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium sits beside your traditional IS suite, filling in any gaps in its defences. It's small and efficient, quick to scan and appears to offer extra protection against sneakier security threats. It represents an inexpensive addition to the arsenal of software needed to keep your computing safe.

9. McAfee LiveSafe 2015

If you run a couple of home Windows PCs, a Mac, a tablet and a smartphone, or a similar combination, McAfee LiveSafe 2015 is an economical way of protecting them all and providing anti-theft facilities on the mobile devices. While the feature set of the IS component of the package may lack back-up and PC tune-up, the power of its AV protection can't be denied.

8. Bullguard Internet Security 2014

We like Bullguard Internet Security 2014 a lot. It's AV and protection provision is robust and well automated, but it's also one of the most comprehensive suites we look at each year. Combining IS, backup and tune-up seems to us the ideal approach and this one suite handles all these issues in a sensible and easily controllable way. It's also one of the most economically-priced solutions out there.

7. F-Secure Safe 2014

The Usability score of 5.5 reflects a low total of five false positives, during system scans and the use of legitimate applications. The 4.5 figure for a Performance score shows a noticeable resource hit while running regular computing tasks, like downloading and installing software.

6. Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security

Overall, Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security is a great choice. This security suite boasts excellent performance, a quick installation process, a user-friendly interface, and speedy scans. Its settings pane is a tad confusing, but that’s a minor issue considering the protection you’ll be getting.

5. eScan Total Security Suite 1

Since Microworld produces IS software for Mac and Android, as well as PC, it would be good to have cross-platform support in this suite, but given the asking price for a 3-PC licence (you can buy 1, 2, 3 and 5 PC variants), it's still very good value. It's quick, AV-Test shows it to be effective and its no-nonsense interface is refreshing.

4. G Data TotalProtection 2014

With excellent protection and decent performance at a good price, we like G Data TotalProtection 2014.

3. Bitdefender Total Security 2015

Bitdefender is consistently among the best IS suites we’ve tested and also provides the best AV protection, according to AV-Test. There are a few small chinks in its armour, though. The syncing process, by which it backs up designated files and folders is by no means clear and 2 GB of storage for a 3-PC package is downright mean. We’d want to check why the anti-theft feature places us in South Yorkshire, too.

2. Kaspersky Total Security 2015

A three-device, full protection IS suite for under £50 is good value and when that includes cover on all the major platforms, it should be flexible enough for most. Kaspersky Total Security 2015’s technical strength can’t be faulted, with only Avira Anti Virus Pro matching it in the AV-Test group.

1. Symantec Norton 360 2014

AV-Test gave the Norton code 17.0/18.0, a very good result. Broken down, this gives 5.5/6.0 in both Protection and Usability and a full 6.0/6.0 in Performance, even if this wasn’t reflected in our own tests of PC slowdown.
